Payment Information

All payment is due the day of service. For your convenience I accept Cash, Paypal ( + service fee), and Venmo. Cancellation must take place 24 hours prior to the time of our scheduled appointment to avoid incurring the full charge of the session.

Insurance

At this time, I do not accept insurance. While I understand that many people seek therapy with the intent of using their insurance, I believe that therapy works best when treatment isn’t being influenced and determined by the requirements of your insurance company. Insurance companies require a diagnosis to justify the medical necessity of treatment and often require information on your symptoms, level of functioning, treatment plan, and progress to determine whether or not they will pay. Your insurance company can therefore determine the length of treatment and dictate when treatment is no longer medically necessary, regardless of how you and the therapist feel about your course of treatment.

I am happy to provide you with a receipt should you decide to seek “out of network” reimbursement. Please note that this receipt will still require a formal diagnosis which will become part of your medical record. Unfortunately, this can effect future health premiums and make acquiring life insurance more difficult. Should you decide to seek reimbursement through your insurance company, you and I will come to a mutually agreed upon diagnosis that you feel comfortable submitting to your insurance company. Check with your insurance company directly for more information on reimbursement rates and potential deductibles.
